Terms

These cover this website. Actual work is governed by the engagement contract signed before it starts, and that contract takes precedence over anything here.

The content on this site

The guides, case studies and posts are published so they are useful. You are welcome to read them, apply them, and quote them with attribution. You may not republish them wholesale as your own.

They are general information written from experience, not advice about your specific system. We have not seen your code. Nothing here is a warranty that a given approach will work in your situation — that is what the audit is for.

Figures and estimates

Cost ranges, timelines and ratios on this site are illustrative, drawn from experience, and clearly marked where they are approximate. They are not quotes. A quote is a written document with your name on it.

Case studies

Every case study on this site describes work that was actually done. Where a project is a personal one rather than client work, the page says so. Where an outcome has not been measured yet, the page says that too rather than inventing a number.

Engagements

Nothing on this website forms a contract. Scope, price, payment terms, intellectual property and confidentiality are set out in the engagement contract, which we send before any work begins.

Liability

We provide this website as-is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from decisions made on the basis of general content published here.
